HARDCASTLE, DONALD J. Age 80 life-long resident of
Brooklyn passed away at Allegiance Health on
October 21, 2012. Don was born June 4, 1932 to
Ellwood and Eula (Schwartz) Hardcastle at the
Willow Grove Hotel at Wamplers Lake. He graduated
from Brooklyn High School and was self-employed as
an agricultural mechanic his entire life. Don
married Michelina "Mickey" Ialacci on August 6,
1955 in Toledo and she survives. In addition to
his loving wife of 57 years, Don is survived by
his children: Jay (Linda) Hardcastle, Kevin
(Christie) Hardcastle, Kraig (Juanita) Hardcastle,
Jeff (Debbie) Hardcastle, Bruce (Sheri)
Hardcastle, Brian (Kristen) Hardcastle, Todd (Jill
Kukla) Hardcastle, Lisa (Scott) Grasso, Matt
Hardcastle and Chad (Terry) Hardcastle; 24
Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by his parents and twin
grandsons. In Don's honor, memorial donations may
be shared with the Cascades Humane Society or
Michigan Special Olympics. A Simple Farewell
gathering will begin on Wednesday, October 24,
2012 from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Borek Jennings Funeral
Home, Braun Chapel. The Farewell Service will be
on Thursday at the funeral home beginning at 11
a.m. with Reverend Milan Maybee officiating.
